Who is the bi+ conversation group for?

The bi+ discussion group welcomes everyone who is attracted to more than one gender or who is unsure about it. It does not matter whether you are open about it or not, whether you give your orientation a name or not, and if so, which one. Whether you have a lot or little experience in this area, whether you are currently in one (or more) relationship(s) or if you are single and what your gender, beliefs, religion or age is. The desire to exchange about it is enough.

The (possible) attraction to more than one gender is what connects us. This connection often results in a warm, validating and supportive contact, regardless of the differences that exist. And even though it can sometimes be difficult to encounter differences, fortunately there is always something to learn from the experiences of someone else.​

I find it exciting
Don't worry, you're not alone. It's always exciting to talk to a group of people you don't know about something that's important to you. I'd like to invite you to come to the bi+ talk group, so that you can experience that you're not the only one. Not the only one with tension for the bi+ talk group and not the only one who is bi+ and wants to talk about it.

​Doubts, searches, questions, knowing, wanting to know, struggles, contradictions, happiness, insecurities, pride, shame, liberation, fear, self-stigma...
Everything is welcome!

If you really find it too exciting, you are more than welcome to come to me individually (first) to talk about your bi+ feelings.​

The bi+ chat group is not a dating night. People come here to exchange and not to be picked up. Of course you can exchange numbers afterwards if you would like to talk further, but that is definitely not what the meeting is aimed at.
At bi-café Nijmegen you can flirt and dance, perhaps that is something for you.​

You are welcome to join the bi+ discussion group if you do not give your orientation a name. And also if you only experience a 'vague feeling' with regard to attraction to one or more genders. And also if you do not know at all whether you really experience the feelings as 'orientation' or if you only want to kiss people of a certain gender every now and then...

If you experience asexuality/aromanticism to a greater or lesser extent in combination with attraction towards multiple genders, you are welcome. And also if there is an interaction between your search for gender identity and bi+ feelings, you are welcome to join the bi+ discussion group. Of course, you are also welcome if (the lack of) your gender identity is clear :).

Do you call yourself bisexual, bi, pansexual, pan, queer, fluid, flex, bicurious, polysexual, non-monosexual, plurisexual, multisexual, omnisexual, biromantic, panromantic, open, in doubt, homoflex, heteroflex, lesboflex, genderblind or something else? You are also welcome!

In short: the only 'criterion' for participation is that you feel the need to come!
I don't quite understand what your role is as a discussion leader?
In this bi+ discussion group I am not there in the role of therapist. I am a (trained) expert by experience and attracted to all genders. In that role I lead the group discussion, I participate in the discussion and I hope to ensure that everyone feels safe, seen and heard.

What time is the bi+ conversation group?

The start time of the bi+ meeting is stated in the agenda. ​You are welcome for a cup of tea or coffee fifteen minutes before the start. At the start of the meeting we introduce ourselves to each other, I introduce the theme of the bi+ meeting and then we start talking to each other. We exchange experiences and see what will be discussed based on everyone's needs. At the stated end time we conclude the group discussion.
You can chat for up to half an hour after the meeting.

A maximum of 7 people are present at the bi+ meeting.
Everyone who comes adheres to the bi+ conversation group agreements.​

How much does the bi+ conversation group cost?

Attending a bi+ conversation group costs €15 to cover costs.

Budget tickets are available for €10.

What if i want to cancel?
​Cancellation is free up to one week before the bi+ meeting. If you cancel within one week before the bi+ meeting, you will be charged €5. The rest of the amount paid will be refunded. If you cancel within 48 hours before the start of the bi+ meeting, you will not receive a refund.

If Praktijk Medemens has to cancel the bi+ meeting, a replacement date will first be sought. If this cannot be found, or if you are unable to attend, you will receive the amount paid back.

Where is the bi+ group?

The bi+ meetings take place in my practice room in training center Michi. This is a warmly decorated room where we sit among the toys for my play therapy clients. :)

Is the space accessible for people in wheelchairs?
Yes, there is also a toilet for them available. 
Are there Genderneutral Toilets?
Yes, all toilets are for all genders.
​Can my companion/interpreter come along?
Sure! If you need assistance to get to the practice room, he/she/they can wait in café Michi during the group discussion.
Supervisors/interpreters-translators may also be present at the discussion group free of charge. Please indicate this when you register.
​I don't know if the group is accessible and/or pleasant for me.
