If your child is often sad, angry or scared, as a parent/caregiver you want nothing more than for your child to feel good again. Play therapy can help with this.
What is play therapy?
Play therapy is a form of therapy that uses play to understand children. Because children naturally like to play, they quickly feel at ease in the game room. While playing, they process (bad) experiences and try out new behavior.
As a play therapist, I follow the child in play. Because I pay attention to the feelings that emerge within the game, a child feels understood and seen. I have an accepting attitude: all feelings are allowed. This creates a safe relationship and the child dares to show themself more and more.
I help the child by what I do and say while playing. For example, to build more self-confidence, to express feelings or to get more relax.
